Sharing a fun card today with one of my favorite dies from the Spellbinders June All Clubs Crate. This Hawaiian themed crate has been so much fun to create with. This adorable penguin was one of the freebies in the All Clubs Crate and after making many tropical cards with him (I promise I will share some of those on here very soon!) I decided to create a desert scene for a fiesta themed card. I plan on giving this card to someone who was recently promoted at work but it would be perfect for a birthday or any occasion to celebrate!
I love that the sombrero from the Sip Sip Ole dies fits the little penguin and the small guitar from the Luau Beats Stitch Die of the Month is also a perfect size for him.
To create a desert scene, I used an older Spellbinders small die of the month set from June of 2021 called Colorblock Landscape and die-cut this from 3 colors of brown cardstock. The rocks in the front are from the waterfall dies included in this year’s Weekender kit. I die-cut them from 2 colors of brown cardstock and added distress inking. The small flowers are from June’s Large Die of the Month called Tropical Blooms and I die cut a few leaves from the Lemon Zest die set and colored them to look like small cactus sticking out from the rocks.
The 2 larger Saguaro cactus are dies from La La Land Crafts as is the sentiment.
