Happy Valentine’s Day!
Sharing a fun card today that was a special request from my hubby. He works with many service members and they had recently requested some love themed cards to give to their significant others. When he saw the Viking Plushies stamps from Clearly Besotted sitting on my desk the other day, he thought they’d be perfect! He even chose the sentiment:)
This was super simple to put together using some dies and stamps in my stash. First, I die-cut black cardstock using the Sunny Studio Quilted Hearts Portrait Die and adhered it to a pink A2 card base. I cut a 2 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ piece of gray cardstock and adhered it to the bottom of the card. Next, I die-cut white cardstock using a Sunny Studio Stitched Semi-Circle Die and stamped the mountains from the Sunny Studio Spring Scenes Stamps. I masked the mountains and inked the sky with Saltwater Taffy, Spun Sugar and Tattered Rose Distress inks. I then colored the mountains with Copics.
I stamped the adorable Viking Plushies on Neenah Classic Crest 80lb solar white cardstock, colored them with Copics and fussy cut them out. How cute are those little warriors?!
To finish it up, I heat embossed the “YOU” and “MY HEART” from the Sunny Studio Snail Mail Stamps on black cardstock and cut around them. I inked a piece of white cardstock with Saltwater Taffy, Spun Sugar and Tattered Rose Distress inks and die-cut the “CONQUERED” sentiment from it and also backed the letters in white cardstock. This is a very old alphabet die set from my stash called “Tide Pool” from Die-Versions. I’m a bit of a font freak and collected many many alphabet dies back in the day, so I’m always happy when I find a great use for them. I thought this chunky and funky font worked perfectly with these cuties.
Hope you enjoyed and thanks for stopping by!
