Happy Friday! I’m in full Summer card making mode, so when I saw this new Catch a Wave stamp set from Gerda Steiner Designs, I was giddy! How cool is this little dude?!
I kept this pretty clean and simple and started by die-cutting a background panel from white cardstock and inking a waves stencil from The Crafter’s Workshop with Tumbled Glass distress ink.
I die-cut a circle from white cardstock and drew the beach lines with a Copic multi-liner pen. I masked the area before inking the ocean behind with Broken China distress ink. I also used a La-La Land Crafts waves stencil with Peacock Feathers distress ink.
I then masked the ocean portion and inked the beach with Old Paper distress ink adding Copic shading in areas with E44, E43, and E42.
I used a Copic multi-liner to free hand a few accents on the surfboards before coloring the images with Copics. Be sure if you add any accents to your stamped images and you plan on coloring them with Copic markers that you use a Copic safe pen or you’ll ruin your markers!
For a little extra tropical vibe, I Copic colored a leaf and hibiscus die-cut from my stash.
To finish, I stamped the sentiment from the set in Versamark on black cardstock and heat embossed with Wow! detail white embossing powder and then hand cut it.
Hope you have a great weekend and get a little crafty time in too!
