Turtle Woes

May 22, 2019 in Hero Arts - No Comments

Hi there! Can you believe it’s Hero Arts 45th anniversary this year?! That’s an amazing accomplishment!! I thought I’d share a card today using their cute “Pet Turtle” stamps. This little guy looks so bummed that he missed someone’s birthday!

I know the colors aren’t your typical bright and happy birthday colors, but he looks like he feels bad for being late to the party so I just went with it.

Clean and simple design here that I started by taping off a strip at the bottom for the sentiment and inking with a gradient of Walnut Stain, Vintage Photo and Old paper Distress inks. I then taped off that strip and inked above it with Shabby Shutters and used a “Stone Increase” stencil from The Crafter’s Workshop with Crushed Olive.

I splattered a little Dr. PH Martin’s Saddle Brown radiant watercolor for extra interest and colored up the little turtle with Copics.

To finish, I heat embossed the sentiment and added a few strips of patterned paper from my stash.

Hope you enjoyed and thanks for stopping by!
