Happy Saturday! I’m up on the Gerda Steiner Designs blog today and sharing this card here as well using the cute I just Miss You Puppy stamp set.
Isn’t he adorable? Such a sad little face, just makes me want to hug him!
I kept this one pretty simple and chose a bit of a masculine and moody color scheme. My husband says this is one of his favorites, so I think it worked out.
To start, I die-cut a background panel from white cardstock and taped a straight line about 1/2″ from the bottom. I then inked the bottom portion with Pumice Stone distress ink. Afterwards, I taped the bottom portion and inked the top with Iced Spruce distress ink.
I heat embossed the sentiment from this set and added a little something extra to the design by inking another piece of white cardstock with Iced Spruce and die-cutting a few different sizes of paw prints (these are MFT). It gives it a subtle embossed effect.
I colored the dog image with Copics and fussy cut around the image. Once I adhered it, I added some shadows under the dog bed with N3 and N2 Copics.
Pretty simple, quick and cute.
I hope you have a great weekend and thanks so much for stopping by!
