YETI OR NOT!

Happy Monday! I thought I’d start this week off with a fun yeti card. It’s super cold here this morning, but at least we don’t have snow or yetis outside.Yet.

I’ve used the adorable Get Yeti stamp set from Neat and Tangled and started with the sky background of the card. First, I die-cut a piece of white cardstock using the largest die in the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables set. This measures 3 3/4″ x 5″. I airbrushed the sky with Copic R20 and R21 and then taped the Neat and Tangled Rice Paddies stencil across the sky, airbrushing over the stencil with YR61. I think this gave the sky a wintry sunset effect. I then adhered this cardstock piece to my gray card base.

Next, I die-cut another piece of white cardstock using the same Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle die and then die-cut the top of this piece using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Mountain Borders dies. I airbrushed the mountains using Copic E70 and E 71, adhered the snow to the peaks and added a little clear Wink of Stella to the snow for a little sparkle.

I adhered the mountain piece to the sky background piece lining up the bottom edges.

I die-cut one more piece of white cardstock using the same Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle die and die-cut this piece twice with a My Favorite Things Snow Drifts die-namics die cutting one piece larger than the other. I stamped a sentiment from a My Favorite Things stamp set on the smaller snow drift piece. I then layered the snow drift pieces and adhered them to the mountain piece lining up the bottom edges. I also added clear Wink of Stella to the snow using an edge of the My Favorite Things Drifts and Hills stencil.

I stamped and colored the images with Copics and die-cut them using the coordinating dies to this set.

I adhered the yeti first and then adhered the pennant and penguin using dimensional adhesive.

That cute yeti just makes me smile!

Hope you enjoyed my card today!

Stay warm out there and thanks for stopping by!

Go Wild!

Hi there! I’ve got a fun birthday card to share today using the Neat and Tangled Wild Ones stamps. I really love all of the different looks you can get from this set since most of the accessories are individual stamps like the present, birthday hat, etc.

I started this by stamping all of the images on eclipse masking tape (I stamped the balloon twice). Then, I die-cut a piece of white cardstock using the large rectangular die from the My Favorite Things Blueprints 31 die-namics set. I like to figure out my scenes first using the masks of the stamps, so I positioned all of the masked images the way I wanted the final stamped scene to appear.

Next, I die-cut a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock using the same die from the Blueprints 31 set. Starting with the most forward image in my scene (the birthday hat), I placed the cardstock with the masked images in my MISTI and positioned the hat stamp over the hat mask and closed the cover to attach the stamp.

I then swapped out the cardstock and placed my Neenah cardstock in the MISTI to stamp the hat image in the perfect position. I pulled the hat mask from the cardstock piece and masked off my stamped image, moving on to the snake image. I followed this same technique until all of the images were stamped and masked.

Before coloring the images with Copics, I airbrushed around them with Copic Y000. I like to do this first before coloring just in case something goes wrong with the airbrushing. I’d hate to spend a ton of time coloring images and then ruin it afterwards. A word of caution though— choose your background color(s) carefully because it makes color selection of the images much harder to create harmony.

To finish the card, I stamped a sentiment from the Neat and Tangled Hooray stamps at the top and a sentiment from the Wild Ones set.

I hope you enjoyed my card today and thanks for stopping by!

You Are Awesome

Hi there and happy Friday! Today’s card features some cuteness from the new Neat and Tangled release, a little airbrushing and a few different types of embossing.

I started with cutting a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and die-cut a circle towards the center top of the cardstock with the Neat and Tangled Making Waves die. I set aside the interior circle that it cuts out and taped a Tim Holtz Bubble stencil across the cardstock. I airbrushed over the stencil with Copics in YG01 and YG23. You could also use sponge daubers and inks, but I usually find just the right colors in my Copics and airbrushing is too much fun!

I then placed dimensional tape along the outside edges of this white cardstock piece and matted it on a 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ piece of peach cardstock and adhered both to the white card base.

For the interior circular die-cut, I first airbrushed it with BG11, BG13 and BG49, and then embossed it with a Tim Holtz waves embossing folder and adhered it inside the circle cut out.

I stamped and die-cut an image from the Neat and Tangled Flamingo Floatie stamp set and colored it with Copics. I stamped this image a second time, colored the swimsuit with Copics and stamped a dots background stamp in versamark ink over the image. I heat embossed with Stampendous Blushing Pink embossing powder and then fussy cut around the swimsuit and adhered it to the original colored image.

I die-cut a small piece of Neenah cardstock with a pennant die from the My Favorite Things Blueprints 31 die-namics, colored it with Copic YG01, stamped a portion of a sentiment from the Flamingo Floatie stamp set and matted it on a colored piece of Neenah in Copic YG23.

To finish the card, I die-cut the Neat and Tangled Awesome die from teal cardstock, pressed it on a versamark ink pad and heat embossed with UTEE. Most of this sentiment is adhered to the center circle with very small pieces of dimensional adhesive.

I added a few sequins for a little extra shine.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and have an awesome weekend!

Thanks for stopping by!

You Are Dino-Mite

Hi there! My card today features the adorable Prehistoric stamp set from Neat and Tangled. This is the first dinosaur stamp set that I’ve purchased and there are so many fun ways of combining the stamps in this set!

First, I die-cut 80lb. Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock using the My Favorite Things stitched dome stax die-namics. I wanted the baby dinosaur hugging the wooly mammoth, so I stamped the baby first using the MISTI making sure not to ink the back leg and arm.

I then masked the baby and stamped the wooly mammoth slightly overlapping the baby. I drew a little sandy area at the bottom with a Copic multi-liner and masked this area and my images before airbrushing the yellow sunrise with Copics.

I stamped, colored and fussy cut the mama dinosaur and adhered her partially behind the scene.

I finished it off with another die-cut stitched dome stax die-namics from kraft cardstock and various die-cut leaves from the My Favorite Things Wild Greenery die-namics.

Hope you enjoyed the card today and thanks for stopping by!
