Bonjour Mon Ami!

January 30, 2023 in Sunny Studio - No Comments

Happy Monday!

I’ve got a fun Paris themed card for you today! The new Ribbon & Lace Border Dies are just perfect for this theme.

I started this mini slimline card by cutting the white card base 3 1/4” x 6 1/4″ (the cardstock piece is 6 1/4″ x 6 1/2″, scored at 3 1/4″ on the 6 1/2″ side and folded in half). Next, I cut a piece of white cardstock 3 1/4” x 3 1/2″ for the background. I masked the bottom 1 1/2″ and inked clouds with a stencil using Saltwater Taffy Distress ink. I then masked the cloud portion and inked light green grass with Shabby Shutters Distress ink. I adhered this piece to the card base 1” from the top edge.

Next, I inked a 1” x 3 1/4″ piece of white cardstock with Saltwater Taffy Distress ink and die-cut the edge of the piece using the large lace border from the Ribbon & Lace Border Dies. I die-cut a 1 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ piece of white cardstock with the same die and overlapped/adhered the 2 pieces to the card front below the background. I die-cut a 1/2” x 3 1/4″ piece of kraft cardstock with the eyelet lace border from the Ribbon & Lace Border Dies and adhered it to the top edge of the pink lace border.

At the top of the card, I die-cut a second piece of Saltwater Taffy inked cardstock 1/2” x 3 1/4″ with one of the scalloped borders and die-cut a kraft cardstock piece 1/2″ x 3 1/4″ on both edges using 2 of the Ribbon & Lace Border Dies. I overlapped/adhered these to the card front above the background piece.

The ribbon die made a perfect road for my scooter cruising bear! I inked a piece of white cardstock with Hickory Smoke Distress ink, die-cut it with the ribbon die, cut it to 3 1/4″ long and added dashed lines with a white gel pen.

I heat embossed the Eiffel Tower from the Paris Afternoon Stamps with bronze embossing powder on kraft cardstock and die-cut it using the coordinating dies. I stamped all the images on Neenah Classic Crest 80lb solar white cardstock, colored them with Copics and fussy cut them out. I used the following stamps:

Critters on the Go

Paris Afternoon

Charming City

To finish, I heat embossed “bonjour” from the Charming City Stamps on white cardstock using Saltwater Taffy embossing glaze and die-cut “Mon Ami” using the new Hayley Uppercase Alphabet Dies and Hayley Lowercase Alphabet Dies. I also heat embossed those letters with Saltwater Taffy embossing glaze.

I hope you enjoyed and thanks for stopping by today!
