Today I’m sharing a card featuring the new Fall Scenes stamp set and the super cute Squirrel Friends!
I started with the background by die-cutting a piece of Neenah 80lb Classic Crest solar white cardstock using a Stitched Rectangle die and inked a soft sunrise using a light circular motion with Scattered Straw distress ink. I lightly inked the sky with Tumbled Glass distress ink and heat embossed a sentiment from the Happy Harvest stamps using Tim Holtz Walnut embossing glaze. I then die-cut a light gray cardstock using the Frilly Frames Stripes die and adhered these panels to an A2 white card base.
For the grassy hill in the background, I die-cut another piece of white cardstock with a stitched rectangle die, inked it with Shabby Shutters distress ink and die-cut across the piece using a Slimline Nature Borders die approximately 2 1/4″ from the bottom edge. Before adhering this piece to the card front, I stamped, colored (with Copics) and die-cut 2 trees from the Critters on the Go stamp set and tucked them behind the hill on the right side.
Next, I cut a piece of Neenah 80lb Classic Crest solar white cardstock to 5″ x 6″ and stamped the tree and fence line stamp from the Fall Scenes stamp set across the top portion of the cardstock. I inked the grass below the scene with Shabby Shutters distress ink and colored the stamped image with Copics. I also added some grass detail to the inked area with Copic G43.
I used the coordinating dies to the Fall Scenes stamp set to die-cut along the top of the tree and fence line and then, to keep the stitched look to the whole panel, I die-cut the bottom of the scene using the Stitched Rectangle die making sure to place the die beneath the top left side of the tree to allow a few leaves to overlap the panel. I adhered the tree scene to the card and finished it off by coloring and die-cutting a few of the rake and leaves images from the Fall Scenes set and a few of the adorable Squirrel Friends images.

I am in South Florida and we do not really have a traditional Autumn season. The trees do not change color and it will stay hot outside till November. This cute little scene helps me get into the headspace for Fall. They look like they are having so much fun.

My dad used to get so mad at the squirrels that would raid his bird feeders but I always thought they were pretty clever. Adorable card and thanks for making me smile with that memory!
