Club La-La Land Crafts May 2019 Kit Inspiration

Hi there! I’m back today sharing a few more cards that I’ve made using the May kit from Club La-La Land Crafts. Have I mentioned how much I love these adorable pigs?!

When I saw the dies in this kit, I envisioned many different ways to use the various parts, so I’ve featured a few ideas here on these two cards.

For my first card, I’ve used the label portion of the pill bottle to create a banner accent and I really love what that added. I also thought I’d color the little pigs as pied pigs to share a bit of a different look to them.

I’ve used a Stitched Nested Circle die in the center with some patterned paper from my stash that I thought looked a little like a hospital gown print. The sentiment is stamped on a Double Stitched Ovals die-cut and matted on a Pierced Scalloped Ovals die-cut.

For the background I Copic airbrushed a gradient of R81,R83 and R85. I then used a Pretty Diamonds Layering Stencil and inked starting from the top with Tattered Rose, Victorian Velvet and Aged Mahogany Distress Inks.

I’ve added just a portion of the heartbeat die in the top left and a heart die-cut from the center of the heartbeat die placed between the pigs.

For my second card, look closely….

I’ve used the pill bottle cap and die-cut it multiple times from velvet paper on top of a Double Stitched Ovals die-cut to create a little textured rug.

I can see a lot of uses for this die. I’m thinking borders, maybe even a brick wall… Lots of possibilities there!

I’m a huge fan of big bold die-cut sentiments, so I really loved the “Get Well Soon” die in this kit. I’ve inked it with Tattered Rose and Dried Marigold Distress inks and then heat embossed it with UTEE.

I’ve inked the cardstock strip with Iced Spruce Distress Ink and then used the So Many Dots layering stencil with Broken China Distress Ink and Tim Holtz texture paste over the top for a little shine.
