Hi there and welcome to my first post on my brand new blog! I’m really excited to share my creative adventures and today I’m sharing a card using the new My Favorite Things “Cuddly Koalas” stamp set. Who doesn’t love a koala? These little guys are adorable!
I first die-cut the background from 80lb. Neenah Solar Crest White cardstock using the My Favorite Things Stitched dome frames die-namics. I then drew a line for the ground using a Copic multiliner pen, cut a mask for the ground using eclipse tape and inked the sunrise above the masked area with Memento ink in Cantaloupe and Dandelion using a sponge dauber.
I removed the mask and colored the ground with Copic markers and adhered this piece towards the bottom right of a 4 ” x 5 1/4″ piece of white cardstock. Then, I adhered the stitched frame portion of the die-cut to the background piece.
I colored the koala, branch and tree with Copics and die-cut each image with the coordinating die-namics dies, adhering them to the right side of the background.
For the sentiment, I punched a label shape from My Favorite Things patterned paper using an EK Success punch, stamped the sentiment (this is a HeroArts stamp) and matted the punched shape on kraft cardstock. I punched a small hole in the left side of the label and tied a piece of twine through the hole. Then, I adhered the label shape using dimensional adhesive. I chose a dark brown cardstock for the card base to really make the koala scene pop.
Hope you enjoyed my card for today and thanks for stopping by!
